Turns out Kraft parm does not make for good parmesan crisps

Community iconc/cooking@lemmy.world by

Golden brown disks of powdered cheese with sprinkles of seasoning on a baking sheet.

So I’ve managed to end up with two Costco-sized containers of Kraft grated parmesan. I’ll reach for real parmesan 95% of the time, with Kraft being an occasional nostalgia pick, but these will go bad long before I can get through them at my normal consumption. The containers are both opened, so can’t donate and I’m loathe to waste food, so been trying to think of ways to use it all up.

I am looking for help on how to run closed source / pirated games on linux within a virtual machine. I would like to start by saying if I could walk into a shop and buy with cash, a game on a CD like in the old days I would. I have recently become very privacy conscious and until I figure out a way to anonymously and privately purchase things like this I am going to stick with pirating. Also, it is helping me to archive content as everything seems to be moving online and I want to stick with offline applications / media etc in my control.

Does Android send details to chunks.memfault.com?

I have a pi-Hole serving my network. Since a long time I have seen a lot of requests to chunks.memfault.com from my phone. They where all blocked. I thought it was because of my old Samsung phone. But now I switched to another Android phone and the requests are still there. I installed NetGuard to see which app makes the requests, but none of them are. There is an entry for memfault.com but there is no app attached, only sni. So that makes me wonder if Android itself makes calls to this URL?

Designed for operators who want to run a private or semi-private community forum with no reliance on clearnet infrastructure, third-party services, or cloud hosting.

Basically, the title. It’s an old Toshiba flat screen. I successfully “taught” the keyboard the power button code. The keyboard will turn the TV off, but not on. The power button on the remote is just one button, a toggle, like normal. Of course, the remote will turn the TV on and off, by pressing that one button. I can’t imagine what is wrong, it must be the same code for on and off, right? I mean, the things aren’t that complicated.

Today, the European Parliament allowed the suspicionless mass scanning of private communications (“Chat Control 1.0”) to pass, a measure it had rejected twice in March. Although a majority of voting Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) actually opposed the regulation (314 against, 276 in favor, 17 abstentions), the motion to reject it failed to secure the required absolute majority of 361 votes. As a result, mass scanning is now permitted again until 2028.

Lately I’ve been looking for places to find recipes, hopefully that I can add to my RSS reader, but share any great links you might find!

Self hosting security resource -Sidebar?

Community iconc/selfhosted@lemmy.world by

I have noticed it’s not uncommon for there to be quite a few posts around self hosting security, especially with any services that would be public facing. I was thinking security is (or should be) a core component of self hosting and was wondering if it would be worth a resource wiki would be beneficial on the sidebar under resources? At least for some 101 security guides/resources

I started making my own pickles last year and I’ve been hooked ever since…I’m hoping these will last at least a week or two😄

Why is there an @ fdroidorg and an @ fdroid account?

Why is there an @fdroidorg and an @fdroid account? It seems a bit confusing to find the official one. Especially as both have the same logo and both have a lot of followers. The former seems to be the official one, though, according to website verification.

Today time was in short supply with my partner visiting customers and me experiencing full speed managerial bullshit so I put together a simple curry.
